By: Christopher Cruz, Social Listening

Today's traveler is very different from a few years ago. The new generations have been characterized more by living, seeing and feeling, and the arrival of technology and digital media have transformed the tourism landscape. What variables do we take into account when organizing our vacations?

  1. Travel applications as an indispensable tool

The smartphone became that inseparable companion that knows more about you than you know about yourself, it connects us to the apps that will be a constant throughout the trip thanks to its instant feature.

Only those that are truly useful and accessible will survive on the user's cell phone. The applications guarantee you different variables such as direct reservations, maps, restaurant searches, tourist sites and opinions. Among them are: Hopper, Momondo, Kayak, SkyScanner, Cheapflights.

  1. Influencers

Everything becomes more credible when we hear the words of a friend or someone close to us. The influencers are people who fulfill this function to perfection. Many people are dedicating their lives to travel and to tell their experiences traveling around the world through the internet.

  1. Digital experience

The opinion of tourists as prescribers is gaining more and more strength. Considering that a good review or rating can reach any corner of the world, it is necessary to be proactive in the different social channels, responding to comments that may arise and helping those who have a problem or a query.

  1. Big Data Analytics

Nowadays, tourism companies have preferred to choose data mining as a tool to obtain information from any person by analyzing all the inputs they have left through their visits in the different social channels.

A differential advantage will be generated through the creation of personalized offers. In addition, the Big Data Analytics is a key solution for discovering new markets, developing new products and services and positioning yourself in the current traveler's interest.
